Do I need any additional software?

No.
The Primus E-mail Virus Protection service does not require you to download any additional software.


Can I use this service on my prepaid account?

This service is not currently available on any prepaid dial-up packs.

Using the Service

How is my e-mail protected against viruses?

This service is provided within the Primus network. Each e-mail sent to your username@iprimus.com.au e-mail address will be scanned using the renowned Symantec Brightmail® Anti-Virus system and powered by Symantec's Anti-Virus Technology. Reading your e-mail on your PC with a program such as MS Outlook Express will continue as usual. Your e-mail will be cleaned and protected where possible, before it reaches your PC.


What if a new virus comes out? How long will it be before the service is updated?

Updates to the Primus E-mail Virus Protection are ongoing, with a general response time of less than 24 hours to combat new virus outbreaks.


Will the Primus E-mail Virus Protection service protect me against all viruses?

The Primus E-mail Virus Protection service will work towards protecting you against known viruses, virus outbreaks and other related threats that are transmitted to your Primus e-mail service. It does not protect against viruses downloaded from the internet or introduced to your computer through a diskette or CD.


How will I be billed for this service?

This service is provided on a monthly plan. The first period may be less than a month to coincide with your Internet access monthly billing date. You will be billed monthly in advance.


How will the service appear on my bill?

Whether you subscribe to either the Primus E-mail Virus and/or E-mail Spam Protection service (iProtect), you will be billed monthly under the 'Internet Services -Other' section of your bill.


How do I cancel this service?

ou can cancel the Primus E-mail Virus Protection and/or E-mail Spam Protection service at any time (but you will remain liable to pay to the end of the current month) by contacting customer service:

 

If I create a new e-mail member after I have activated the E-mail Virus Protection and /or E-mail Spam Protection services , will it be covered by the service?

Yes.
Any new members that you create after the activation of the Primus E-mail Virus Protection and/or E-mail Spam Protection service will automatically be covered by the service.
