Primus provides communications services for Jamie Oliver’s charity foundation and restaurant

Melbourne, Australia, October 6 2006 - Primus Telecom is delighted to be supporting Chef Jamie Oliver's new Melbourne restaurant, Fifteen, and his Fifteen Foundation by providing state-of-the-art telecommunications, network, and data centre services.

Primus Telecom has supplied Fifteen Melbourne with telecommunications services to ensure that both the restaurant and the foundation headquarters operate with world-class communications facilities and support.

Primus was chosen by the Fifteen Foundation because of its capacity to promptly respond to Fifteen's specific needs with leading edge data centre, ISP, and telecommunication services.

The Fifteen Foundation has recruited 25 disadvantaged young people from all over Melbourne to take part in a 14-month training program in the hope that they can establish careers in the restaurant industry. The progress of the participants is documented on the Network 10 program, 'Jamie's Kitchen Australia'.

A percentage of the profits from the Fifteen restaurant will go to the Fifteen Foundation Australia. The Fifteen Foundation aims to help underprivileged young people by giving them the inspiration to overcome their circumstances and create a better life with a career in the restaurant industry.

Primus Telecom Managing Director, Greg Wilson said it was a great thrill to be working with an organisation that was helping to create career opportunities for disadvantaged young people.

"The Fifteen Foundation is a fantastic and worthwhile cause. Primus is pleased to play a part and participate with both the Fifteen Melbourne restaurant and the Foundation in helping young people who are less fortunate."

Lauren Oliver from Fifteen Melbourne said, "It's incredible to understand the barriers that these young people overcome just to turn up to work each day. And then to see them moving around the kitchen as if they've always worked there - they are an inspiration. What Fifteen has given them is a chance to see their own potential and they're grabbing it with both hands."

Primus has supplied Fifteen Melbourne with a business-grade quality of service enabled (QoS) network that allows Fifteen to run their Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone system simultaneously with their centralised restaurant reservations program and Internet access. The robust Private IP network from Primus allows Fifteen headquarters to combine their voice and data services on a single, full-featured, and cost-effective network. Primus also donated their world-class Data Centre services where the public Fifteen Web site is hosted (http://www.fifteenfoundation.org.au/).

The Primus Professional Services Group acted as project management for the provisioning of Fifteen's entire communications system. Primus personnel coordinated works between numerous vendors who also donated their time and equipment to Fifteen in order to ensure that both the restaurant and head office communicate as an efficient single business operation.

The Fifteen Melbourne restaurant is receiving thousands of inquiries both through its telephone system and its Website each day. The Primus solution was customised and designed with the performance and features necessary to handle the anticipated extraordinarily high call volumes and data traffic.

In November 2002 Jamie Oliver opened the Fifteen Foundation in London. The Fifteen Program is now running with restaurants and training courses in Amsterdam, Cornwall, and Melbourne.
