IPRIMUS TOPS 100,000 BROADBAND CUSTOMERS

Melbourne, Australia, August 29, 2005 - Primus Telecom has seen its broadband customer base reach a landmark 100,000 during August.

The strong take-up of bundled telephone and broadband services by new customers helped push through the 100,000 mark, said Primus Telecom Managing Director, Greg Wilson.

"We have experienced particularly strong growth in recent months as customers have responded to our latest plans offering greater speed, bigger downloads and lower prices.

"Many customers are switching from dial-up internet as they discover that they can have broadband internet at the same or lower cost," he said.

Bundling has also been strong with the majority of customers choosing to take a combined broadband and home phone plan for greater saving and convenience.

"It is particularly pleasing that we have been able to achieve this target primarily from organic growth.

"We continue to experience strong growth flowing from our targeted marketing efforts and high levels of interest from both residential and corporate customers.

"iPrimus's broadband plans, which offer low weekly or monthly payments when combined with home telephone, have been amongst the most successful of our recent offerings," Mr Wilson said.

Many of the new broadband customers will benefit from going directly on to Primus Telecom's new state-of-the-art DSL network which is being deployed across Australia.

Primus Telecom has installed its own DSL infrastructure in almost 100 Telstra exchanges across Australia, enabling it to offer more flexible plans with improved speeds, and allowing new services such as VOIP and IPTV.

"As the DSL rollout gathers pace, many more customers across Australia, including many outside metropolitan centres, will benefit from new pace-setting internet services," Mr Wilson said.
