PRIMUS TELECOM FORGES AGREEMENT WITH OPTUS TO ROLL OUT NEW MOBILE PHONE SERVICE
March 15, 2005 - Primus Telecom has reached agreement with Optus to provide a new mobile service to its residential and business customers.
Following a comprehensive selection process, Primus has selected Optus to use its GSM mobile network as its wholesale service provider.
Details of the Primus mobile service will be announced over the coming months and will provide competitively priced plans with an emphasis on giving real value to customers using other Primus services.
The Managing Director of Primus Telecom, Greg Wilson said that Primus was very pleased to be working with Optus to provide an important value-added service to its customers.
“A mobile service such as this provides an important addition to our product suite, allowing us to tap into a rapidly growing segment and to cross-sell bundled services to our target market.
“Just as Primus has led the way with great value on home phone and Internet, we will be offering some of the best deals available on mobile phone packages,” he said.
Allen Lew, Managing Director of Optus Mobile, said that the Primus deal would mutually benefit both businesses.
