74 YEAR OLD ADELAIDE GREAT GRANDFATHER WINS $100,000 IN BROADBAND PRIZE
March 7, 2005 - A 74-year technology enthusiast from Adelaide has won a $100,000 prize in the iPrimus Broadband Cash Giveaway Promotion.
Mr Alwyn Wright, from St Agnes, Adelaide, connected to Primus Broadband in December last year and automatically went in the running for the $100,000 prize drawn last Tuesday.
Mr Wright recently upgraded his Internet from dial-up to Broadband and uses his high-speed connection to download information on his passions - woodworking, technology and science.
With three grandchildren and one great grandchild, the retiree says the access to diverse information from around the globe helps him to keep up with latest trends in technology.
"It’s all changing so fast but I am able to download software to keep my computer running at its best and I can find the most amazing material on science and technology. I’m also a bit of a handyman so I like to play around with machines and so some woodworking which means I can download plans and designs for things I might make," he said.
Primus Telecom Managing Director, Greg Wilson congratulated Mr Wright on his success in the competition.

The iPrimus Broadband Cash Giveaway Promotion was open to all existing broadband customers as well as those who connected to a broadband plan by February 28, 2005.
